first_imgThe surprises continue as we anxiously await more election results. Americans across the country stayed up all night waiting for returns from Georgia and Pennsylvania and any chance of a miracle and lo and behold, they followed through. Not one but both states flipped blue in favor of Joe Biden in the early hours of Friday. Georgia’s significant Black voter turnout not only helped flip the state but highlighted the impact movements against racial injustice have had on democracy. Pennsylvania’s moment came after more than 30,000 votes from the Philadelphia area were counted, Daily Kos reported. As a result, Philadelphia residents took to the streets to express their happiness and pride in flipping the state.
