first_imgFollowing the Tom Botts Invitational the Bulldogs are set to return home for the 2018 Drake Relays presented by Hy-Vee from April 26-28 at Drake Stadium. Print Friendly Version The Drake University track and field teams are set for their final tune-up before the Drake Relays this weekend at the Tom Botts Invitational in Columbia, Mo. Field events are scheduled to kick off Friday at 4:30 p.m. before track events start at 7 p.m. Action is set to resume Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. followed by 1 p.m. for track events. Schedule Start Lists The Bulldogs are coming off a strong weekend at the Jim Duncan Invitational where senior Taryn Rolle (Nassau, The Bahamas) shattered the school triple jump record with a jump of 41-8.5 (12.71m). Rolle also ran a leg on the team’s first-place 4×100 meter relay. The teams picked up 13 event wins including a 400 meter win for Rai Ahmed-Green (Irvine, Calif.) and a win in the 400-meter hurdles from Victoria Coombe (Centennial, Colo.) who just narrowly missed her personal best. Mary Young (Urbandale, Iowa) finished second in the 100-meter hurdles with a season best time of 13.79 which matches the leading time this season in the Valley. Story Links Live Results The men’s team swept first, second and third in both the 100 meters and 400-meter hurdles as Kundai Maguranyanga (Glen Zorah, Zimbabwe) and Malik Metivier (Toronto, Ont.) won their respective events.
